Jamie Weaver
LCSW
Licensed Social Worker
I am a Pre-Licensed Therapist who holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh with over fifteen years of experience working with diverse populations both in the community and one-on-one. In addition to her MSW, I currently hold certifications in Child Welfare, Case Management, Family Intervention Counseling, Crisis Management, and Drug and Alcohol Counseling.
As a Therapist, I believe in an eclectic model, utilizing a person-centered approach that is holistic, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from a variety of clinical techniques including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Structural Family Therapy, Affirmative Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
I seek to provide creative, exploratory therapeutic practices to help children, adolescents, families, and individuals of all ages flourish. I value open communication and keeping an open mind in the therapeutic process. I hold space for others to think, feel, explore, and make sense of their innermost worlds. My goal is to create an empathetic, respectful, and safe environment to help clients process their unique life stressors.
My professional experience involves extensive work in child welfare and family services, including in foster care and adoption. I also have a wealth of experience providing individual and group therapy on a number of topics in addition to higher levels of mental health care including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and family-based services.
